Anyone looking to start working on pfSense is more than welcome to pick up any of these tasks and we will commit the work.
* Traffic shaper layer 7 integration - currently in progress
* ""NanoBSD"" integration - currently in progress
* FreeBSD-Update integration - adapt to deliver both freebsd && pfsense files
* Integrated daemon that collects per host bandwidth usage, common ports, etc. Similar to ntop without the added unnecessary items and with reporting that will make most IT managers happy.
* vap support (wireless virtualization)
* vimage support (network virtualization)
* Real time snort integration (fix the package)
* Varnish package - http://varnish.projects.linpro.no/
* DTC hosting package - http://www.gplhost.com/software-dtc.html pfDTC (appliance)
* IPSEC - ""RouteD""/OSPF integration (automatic)
* Basic ""IPv6"" support - currently in progress by simoncpu@
* Interface to allow an external software to dynamically provide pfSense with dynamic pf rules. Essentially, this would allow pfSense to be used as a simple PEP (Policy Enforcement Point).
