I am also making progress getting OpenVPN tap interfaces to work in a bridged configuration, allow broadcast technologies such as Rendezvous/Bonjour/Zeroconf to work for mobile users. The upshot of that is that things like iChat, iTunes, and other Apple technologies that are intended and intentionally restricted to the local network will work for remote users as well.
