Troubleshooting unexpected pfSense reboots

• Ensure all unused hardware is disabled in the systems BIOS
• Next if the reboots continue setup a remote syslog server so that if the machine is panicing it will be sent over
• If all of the above fails, backup your configuration and install the developers kernel (1.2-RC2+). Note this will slow down your firewall a bit but it is necessary to catch the panic information
• Finally if the box is simply rebooting without panicing then this is most certainly a hardware issue. Check on:
  • Failing power supply
  • Overheating CPU
  • Overheating RAM
